Vet community

The Slack vets actually open.

A new Slack for practising vets, techs, and CVPMs to compare notes — on cases, on pricing, on the things consultants can’t answer. Practitioners only. No vendors. Vetch founders show up; they don’t sell.

Where the work actually gets discussed.

#generalAll members

Welcome, intros, watercooler. Where everyone says hi on day one.

#clinical-casesMost active

Anonymized cases, second opinions, "have you seen this before?" — the busiest room every Tuesday morning.

#practice-management

Pricing, staffing, AR, reviews, vendor evaluations. CVPMs and owners — operational reality, no theory.

#front-desk

Phones, no-shows, difficult clients, scripts that work. Run by front-desk leads, not consultants.

#specialtyDVM-only

Cardio, derm, surgery, oncology, ECC. Episodic case threads, referral letter templates, board-prep banter.

#shelter

Intake, foster matching, capacity-for-care, grant-report war stories. Municipal + non-profit + rescue.

#equine

Field calls, route planning, ambulatory pricing, lameness. The road-warrior channel.

#tech-and-tools

Anesthesia, dental, radiology, lab tech tips. Vet techs and techs-turned-managers run this room.

#leadership

Owners, medical directors, multi-site folks. Hiring, retention, ownership transitions.

#pricing

What you charge for what. Anonymous fee schedules shared monthly. No naming-and-shaming.

#careers

Job postings, open roles, references. The only place vendor recruiting is allowed — under #careers only.

#off-topic

Pets of the week, hiking pics, book recs. The room you read at lunch.

Who it’s for

The mix you’d want at any CE table.

DVMs

GPs, specialists, ER, equine, shelter. Owners, associates, residents — clinical reality, not theory.

Practice managers + CVPMs

The room that actually answers "what do you charge for X" and "how did you fix your no-show rate."

Vet techs + RVTs

Anesthesia, dental, lab, radiology — most-active in #tech-and-tools. CE coordinators welcome.

Also welcome: vet students (free, no questions asked), educators, and the occasional pharmacist or lab director — all verified, all welcome.

House rules

Four rules. That’s it.

Anonymize patient details

No client names, no microchip IDs, no photos that could identify the household. Crop. Redact. Use first name + species + age.

Practitioners only

Practicing vets, vet techs, CVPMs, vet students. No vendors, no consultants pitching, no recruiters outside #careers. We verify.

Vetch founders show up; they don't sell

Our DVM-in-residence and the rest of the team are members. They answer questions in #general the way any other practitioner does. No demos in the channels.

Pricing-channel: anonymous, monthly

Fee schedules are shared anonymously and aggregated monthly so no one practice is exposed. Nothing leaves the channel.
